First impressions

Today (20/03/14) we were informed that for this term will be working on devising our own adaptation of the play 1984 by George Orwell, along with the use of multimedia. This means we will be using appliances such as projectors and cameras to help enhance and bring a more modern approach to our performance. Along with that we were also told that we would be using the whole upstairs of the old building and other spaces around the school to create an enhance production, meaning to a certain extent the audience will be allowed to choose their own path and live out the world in their own way, so everyone will have a slightly different experience.

When I herd the assignment brief, I new that as exiting this idea sounded there was going to be a lot of work to do with very little time to do it in, so I had quite mixed feelings. I thought the idea of using multimedia sounded quite interesting and if we were successful in using it, it would be very useful in helping us  to enhance and entice our performance to make this world we were trying to create more believable to the audience. And also with the added side of the performance being immersive I think it will be a really interesting experience for the audience as it will allow them to have a slight insight into the world that George Orwell pictured.
