The simplicity of the Costumes meant the audience where able to decide for them selfs the purpose and meaning of each character by the way their actions and emotions preceve them but not by the way an individuals outfit represented them, as most members of the cast were dressed head to toe in black with only the actors working as iner-party members dressed in more formal costumes, clearly showing to the audience that they have more power and superiority to the wrest of the cast. Along with that the audience was also given masks numbers 1 to 100, ( inspired by Punch Drunk) which not only allowed us to identify audience members but also involved and made them feel more like a part of the performance and the world. And the fact that each mask was numbered constently reminded the audience that in this world they were more like a statistic then an individual human being.
Another major multimedia tool used In our performance was the use of light. Lighting meant the atmospher of each room could be easily created, with the areas kept quite dark and dimly lit presenting a moody, intimadating feeling and in the rooms more brightly light giving a more invighting and comfortable atmosphere. For example in the "space" where I spent most of my time in and around the performance, also where we gave the 2 minutes hate presentation was kept rather dark with only light produced by video projected onto the wall and the small flashing yellow lights provided by Jacob to create the lighting. These yellow flashing lights effected the audience by irritating and leading them to a sense of anger, insenting the message of that room at the time which was hate.
In the room that me and my group where assigned with, it was meant to be a place ware to a certain amount the people living in this world could feel relaxed. So not many multimedia tools where used as it was meant to be a place where people felt as if they weren't being followed and watched by the technology around them, with only a picnic blanket and basket to decorate the space to try and create a calm atmosphere.
Over all I was very pleased with our performance and how everything went even though I was quite optimistic at first and there were a few things that could have been done to improve it such as, maybe being assigned with more time to work on the unit and prepare. But because of that we had the experience of working in a very short time to a dead line and also because of the way the show was done, being Imersive it allowed us to improve our skills in improvisation. I was also really happy with the way the multimedia worked with the production and I was suprised how the space that we already had, our school, provided so many assets to our performance because like in 1984 our production was set within a world ware everything like school is very architecturally dull and intearied to be quite bland and boring. I'm very happy with how everything went and am very great full to have been a part of the expirence.
